Merry Christmas Everyone!

We hope everyone has great Christmas and that all our Band members behave themselves, especially around all the food! We'd also like to thank everyone for their support through the year and we hope you'll see us through the next year as well!

We'll be back in action 28th-30th December before we break up for the

New Year and then we are back to usual from the 3rd January.

Thank you!

All of the staff at Bruff's Bark!

Thumper's costume doesn't fit anymore, but Merry Christmas!

Santa's Little Helper!

Here's our little TV star Rudi on his visit to Santa, doesn't he look so happy!

We love to see our furry friends so keep sending in photos and videos to share!

Also we'd like to share the news that we are sold out of all the Bruff's Bark Calendar 2015, told you they would go quick!

Saturday 13 December 2014

Ready or Not

Here they are!
The Bruff's Bark Calendar 2015 is finally here for all! With them are our new business cards, we are so excited!
As said before the calendars will go quick, so you better have ordered some beforehand!

Sunday 7 December 2014

Winter is Coming...

Yes it seems the bitter and cold weather has started and we have already started putting on the layers to deal with it but it doesn't mean we can't have a bit of fun as well!

We'll start off with a video of some fun outside and inside!
Starring Maggie & Ayla and Rudi, Rhu & Skye

There has also been a few guests appearing at Hotel Bruff, like Rudi and Buster!

All wrapped up!

 Caught scheming it seems!

They've got their bed for the night!

"Skye come play with me!"

Also we'll like to keep you up to date on the calendars, they should be here by this weekend! Looks like we aren't the only one ordering loads of calendars!

Friday 28 November 2014

It's Done!

The Calendar is finally complete and has been sent to the printers!
We've put a lot of effort in and we hope when it arrives fresh off the press, you'll enjoy it too!

There is all the old faces you've seen before and all new faces that you'll see more often!
But we do have something to share with you until then, here's some photos that unfortunately never made it to the calendar but will still make you smile and laugh!

Also we would like to apologise for the lack of Training sessions recently, the weather although it hasn't been too bad at times, the grounds are soaked and muddy making it unsafe.

Thursday 20 November 2014

We are still here!

Sorry to keep you waiting, Red!
We know we haven't been quite as eventful as we usual but we are still working away. There is only a handful of photos to gather before we can order the calendars and we are getting excited about it!
With that we are also getting new business cards, which will help reflect information on the blog and be simplified!

But as always we do like to entertain, so with our ethos of training dogs but making sure they can still be a dog, here's a video showing a few dogs who are trained and one who is still a dog at heart!

Friday 7 November 2014

Sorry for the Silence!

We've been busy working hard and getting all our furry friends in good spirits whilst the weather deteriorates slowly.

But we are happy to announce that we'll be doing the Bruff's Bark Calendar 2015
Yes, we have already started the hard part of collecting all the photos - some members are a bit camera shy or a bit too excited - but it's going to be bigger than last year with more than 40 happy faces to fill it!

We are hoping it will be ready by mid-December at the latest and we'll endeavour to keep it value for money!

With that we'll like to give an advanced notice of our seasonal holiday dates for this year:

23rd December - 27th December

31st December - 2nd January

A Surprise Visit!

Hotel Bruff had another guest this week from a well missed 'little' bulldog, Oscar! The wee man is all grown up now and is still the same funny and playful dog as he was when he first joined Bruff's Bark. So let's get into the action!

We'll start off with him meeting Maggie for the first time and what a blast they had, though Oscar still hasn't ran out of steam yet!

He goes on to pester Skye for a bit to get someone to play with him.

The result:

Then finally he decides to help out around the house, one chore he loves is opening the mail and giving a good read before deciding it's for the bin.

And after a few days of excitement when Oscar finally gets home he then decides it's sleepy time.

In other news, we mentioned it a year ago about having a celebrity dog in our ranks and he has now moved on from the newspapers to the TV!
Yes we are talking about Rudi, he was again at the Animal Blessing service at Greyfriars Kirk this year and got some screen time!

Rudi checking that they got his best side!

How time has flown!

We've been busy working hard and it's just came to our attention that we've missed how much some of our member's have grown over the past year!

Here's a short clip of Floyd of when he first came to training and how he's grown over the year! The shy little pup is now a big happy boy!

It's also time to note that it's now getting colder and wetter; where some of our member's don't mind, others hate it! So it's time to get those all important dog jackets on and today's model for them is Bonnie!

More Catch Up!

The dogs have it easy!
Yes, it's been pretty challenging but we are still here and ready to please! With some staff shuffling and lots of sweating, cycling and walking; we are still the hard working Bruff's Bark!

So we'll start off easy with some snaps of beautiful and lovable members!
We know some of them don't always see the camera but it doesn't mean we care for them any less - some are a bit camera shy! They come in small, big, young and old!

Left to Right: Midget, Floyd & Ruby, Lula, Elmo, Yogi, Harley, Laika and Bruno

Next up, we have clips of our Bruff's Bark Band members in action and working hard or taking easy as you'll see! Starring: Ruby, Floyd & Red and Lula!

Finally we'll round it off with some fun loving pugs: Frank and Rudi!

Holiday Snaps!

As you all know Hilary was on a short break away but where she go?
She went to the jolly and relaxing Netherlands but also the Bruff's Bark Mascot made it on board the flight as well!

So without further ado, here is some photos!

As you see the Mascot had a busy time from eating lots, meeting fellow canines, driving a barge, escaping the police with Hilary and finally having some time to enjoy a cool beer!

Also here is some more notable photos to be shown!
Arriving at Amsterdam's majestic train station.
Hints for drinks!
The old church in it's glory.
Back to Museum Square!

Joining Van Gogh.
Loving the canal view!
Late afternoon but still looking good!
Jumping for a horse ride.
Photo opportunity with a Stag Do.

Hilary checking out some of the attractions.

And still dealing with dogs where ever she goes!

Outside the old church.

Time for a Breather!

It's been quite hectic over the past few weeks and we have lots of things to tell and show!

We'll start off with a big thank you to Zorona and Hope who have been helping out with some of our members for the past few months, they have been great help and will be missed especially by the pugs, Winston and Rudi!

"Hey everyone!

We worked at Bruff's Bark over the past summer. We really enjoyed ourselves and loved getting to know both the staff and all the dogs. We especially miss the pugs who we regularly spent time with, Rudi and Winston. For us, it was the ideal summer job; getting to spend time outside in the sun with animals we loved. A big thanks to Hilary for taking us under her wing! We're back at university continuing our studies now but we hope to back in the future.

Lots of love,

Zorona and Hope"

Next up we've got a few new faces to let you meet!

First up, is a 4 year old boxer called Roxy! She may seem a big girl but she's gentle and loves to play!

Next up is this handsome boy, Harley, he's a 3 month Labrador/Spaniel Cross. He may be new to this world but he's a little genius and has been breezing through training.

Thirdly, we have another young one, this time it's Lula. This golden girl is small at the moment but knows how to have fun and has already made a great friendship with one of our bigger and fluffier members, Chloe!

Chloe trying to look cool for the camera.

We've had another visitor to Hotel Bruff, this time it's was Rudi for the night!

Surprise photo!
He may be a lot smaller compared to Girls but this wee man knows how to get some attention and has even ended up getting his own selfie!

With a bit of help!

We are getting there! We couldn't leave without a few videos of members in action!

So here's Winston, Frank, Floyd, Harley, Maggie, MidgetSammy and Red!

And last but not least, we have some photos of Band Members showing off their good side!

Cheeky little Kari and happy face Ruby
Skye - model material!

Happy National Dog Day!

Apologises for the short delay!

Yes, the 26th of August is officially National Dog Day!

But what is it?

National Dog Day (Also known as: International Dog Day & National Dog Appreciation Day) is celebrated August 26th annually and serves to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, and acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. Dogs put their lives on the line every day - for their law enforcement partner, for their blind companion, for a child who is disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and pulling victims of tragedy from wreckage.

 - National Dog Day Website

And how do you celebrate it?

Well there is many way to celebrate it! From simple things like having a  good walk with your dog(s), getting them gifts and treats, helping others with their dog(s) or giving a new life to a dog in a shelter and adopting them!
Check out the website for more ideas!

But there is one idea we love at Bruff's Bark and that's getting some fabulous photos, so without further ado here's Oscar and Oscar!

The new Baywatch star!

Relaxing after a big walk!

A Little Catch Up!

Apologises for the lack of posts recent of our Band Members in action, it's been pretty busy with new members joining and the end of the holidays meaning we are back to full steam!

We'll start with the recent exclusive Pug Club meet up in which both Rudi and Frank were apart of! So here is a little men both looking pretty good if we do say ourselves!

Next up we have an update on Elmo, he's recently had a bit of surgery but he's still happy and going strong even though he's become quite a lazy boy and will happily sleep than go for a walk.

Yawn!
Next up another little collage of some our members enjoying themselves!

Left to Right: Oscar, Chloe, Yogi and Kelly
Finally we've got a new face for you all to meet, he's a small older boy who's new to the area but is full of joy and energy, so without further ado here's Sammy

Happy!

And here he is in action with Hilary!

The Dog Years!

It's been said that 1 human year equates to 7 dog years, but recent studies have shown this to be wrong. They show that it varies between both sizes and breeds of dogs.

Here's recent article on the subject.
For a quick calculation:

For first two years:
  • 12.5 years per human year for the first two years for small dogs
  • 10.5 years per human year for the first two years for medium-sized dogs
  • 9 years per human year for the first two years for large dogs
For years 3+:
  • Small: Dachshund (Miniature) 4.32, Border Terrier 4.47, Lhasa Apso 4.49, Shih Tzu 4.78, Whippet Medium 5.30, Chihuahua 4.87, West Highland White Terrier 4.96, Beagle 5.20, Miniature Schnauzer 5.46, Spaniel (Cocker) 5.55, Cavalier King Charles 5.77, Pug 5.95, French Bulldog 7.65
  • Medium: Spaniel 5.46, Retriever (Labrador) 5.74, Golden Retriever 5.74, Staffordshire Bull Terrier 5.33, Bulldog 13.42
  • Large: German Shepherd 7.84, Boxer 8.90
Also if you are fan of the oldies - aren't we all? - here's a nice article on some dogs who have lived past 100 years!

And if you want to check how old you are in dog years in the breed(s) of your choice, check here!

The End of the Summer Holidays

Yes, the Summer Holidays are coming to an end soon but it doesn't mean the fun is going to stop! All it means is we are going to be back to full steam with all our Band members coming back in their usual routines!

But here's what's been happening recently!

Maggie has been staying at Hotel Bruff with the Girls and what a ball she has been having!

Hoof!
More Hoofs!
Enjoying the sun with - of course - a hoof!

There has also been the usual fun and games when we've got all the Band members together for a play! So here we have: Rhu, Skye, Floyd, Maggie, Tess, Frank and Winston!

And finally we'll end with what happens when the members enjoy the sun too much!

Left to Right: Jack; Bonnie & Chloe, Merlin; Rhu, Skye and Maggie
